It's real easy. Just promote the possibilities with your domain by providing examples. Here are examples of branded Identities@Tel:
There are no specific criteria when offering your domain name for use as an identity. Consider length, memorability, popularity. Generally, the more generic and shorter your domain name, the more ideal it is for an identity. However, surname domain, geographic and job title domains are ideal too. Here are examples:
Your end user customer will use the link from your domain to visit TELidentity.com. After selecting their identity and entering an email address, an email will be sent to the user. The user will click on the purchase link in their email and come to the email leasing page. Here the user will confirm the price and leasing period and purchase a subscription. Your account will be debited a predetermined number of credit.
You need to set the following for each domain:
create the MX forwarding record
place in pool
set the leasing fee
possibly set geoaware if generic domain name
set a possible free trial period
set the currency
Your account also needs to have a Paypal address set.
Credits are the prepaid currency used by our identity management service. In order to use our service, you must purchase credits. Credits are reserved in your Telmasters account. Each time you sell an identity, one or more credits are deducted from your account. You can charge whatever you want when you sell an identity, and we deduct credits from your account. You must have sufficient credits on hand when an identity is sold.
We debit your account when an identity is sold. One to three credits are used for the transaction based on identity prefix classification. We maintain a database of English words and phrases to classify identity prefixes. Classification is used to select the number of credits for an identity. This is because Identities@Tel are a commodity and the rarer the identity, the greater their value. Since you can charge more for rarer Identities@Tel, we use credits in a similar manner. Our system automatically determines the number of credits required to lease an identity in the range of 1 to 3 credits, based on what you charge. Credits are charged in US dollars.
Community affinity is a term used to help sell the concept of email identities. A community-centric email address helps identify a business as a member of its local community, or a person as a member of an association or group. You can use this to push the concept of community emails to get a business to use an identity with your domain.
An email server handles the forwarding of your email identities to your real email address. We maintain our own email server. The MX record for using TelIdentity must be "forwarder.telmasters.com." (must end with a period). If you have another MX record for other email addresses, give the Telmasters MX record the lowest priority, eg 1.
Depending on the type of identity, you might charge in the range of $10 to $100 per year.
If you want to promote use of your domain, you might want to give away some Identities@Tel like names and charge for commercial use only.
